Donald K. Chang, D.D.S., M.P.H.
Meet Dr. Chang
Dr. Donald K. Chang received his pre-doctoral training at the University of California in Los Angeles (UCLA) where he received a Bachelor of Science in Biology. He continued his studies at the UCLA School of Public Health where he earned a Master in Public Health focusing on Environmental Health Science.
Dr. Chang then went to the UCLA School of Dentistry to earn his Doctorate in Dental Surgery. After graduating from dental school in 2001, Dr. Chang furthered his dental education via a General Practice Residency (GPR) at the Veteran’s Affairs Medical Center- Sepulveda. After completing the residency, Dr. Chang practiced general dentistry in his own office for several years before deciding to specialize in one area of dentistry, that of endodontics.
In 2008, Dr. Chang joined the Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry of the University of Southern California (USC) as an endodontic resident where he trained under the tutelage of one of the founding fathers of endodontics, Dr. James Simon.
Dr. Chang is a professional member of various local and national dental organizations, including the American Dental Association, California Dental Association, American Association of Endodontists, and the West L.A. Dental Society.
Dr. Chang continues to be involved in academia by volunteering his time as part-time faculty at the USC Advanced Endodontics department.
On a personal note, Dr. Chang (Don) is a loving husband, and a father of three children – Megan, Emily and Joshua. Don enjoys playing basketball and golf. He is an avid fan of the UCLA football and basketball teams, as well as the Los Angeles Lakers, Dodgers, and Rams. He enjoys spending quality time with his family, especially when they are camping and salt-water fishing.
He also spends any available alone-time getting re-energized by surfing at the beaches in Ventura and Malibu.
